There are crevices in our heart that we must be particularly intentional towards making sure they remain sealed…situations will happen or things will be said that expose them, causing them to leak out triggers, uncomfortable emotions, hurting thoughts and emotions, and both wanted/unwanted desires and longings that tend to leave us in a state of suffering…but what if I told you that we are not meant to push past it? What if I told you that these are opportunities of surrender and the deliverance you seek?

Let Us Remain Sensitive to the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is One Spirit, each of us do not have a different version of it. The same on that is in me, is in you if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior who died and raised three days later. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living in us as His believers (Romans 8:11). This One Spirit makes us one body of Christ (Romans 12:4-5), one flesh and sets us apart from the world. Why is this important?

Don't Look Back (Narrow Road)

I know the narrow gate of our faith and walk with Jesus is challenging and uncomfortable to endure. It can grow scary, intimidating, and fill us with weary. It tests our hope and faith in God and sometimes makes us question His love and goodness towards us…As children of God, followers of Jesus, and bearers of the Holy Spirit, we can rest in His is protection and know that wherever He leads us, is good.

Let There Be Light

Jesus was the means of the created light in the darkness in the beginning, He broke through the darkness of night and was born to a virgin, He shot light into the face of death as He resurrected and He continues to bring light to the darkness of our situations, a light that cannot be extinguished (John 1:5).

There is No Stopping It, Just Our Response

Although I feel the need to catch up with Him, I know the proper response is to not run faster, but to repent. It isn’t to double my effort and perfect my works, but turn my gaze towards Him and surrender. Our obedience is not so much about the works and acts, but rather our heart posture towards God. Obedience happens when we are turned towards Him, it is an intentional response that flows more freely once we are in this state of posture.
